You may be familiar with the French notion of Âmevive, but you might be familiar with this young winery of the same name. Something tells me, though, that you will be hearing a whole lot about them in the coming years. This new cuvée is, of all things, a sparkling red made of Sangiovese, from the Mira Laguna vineyard in Los Olivos, which has been farmed organically since the 1990s. It's deeply earthy, subtly savory and vibrant, the bubbles adding even more to the freshness undergirding the whole palate. It's a truly unique and gorgeous wine.
