Pepe Raventos Mas del Serral Rosé Clos Petit 2013

MCF Rare Wine

I suppose it was only a matter of time before Pepe Raventos upped the ante on Mas del Serral by offering an even tinier production Rosé version, and that's what he did.  Where the regular Serral is Xarel-lo and Bastard Negre, the Rosé Clos Petit is Xarel-lo and Sumoll (75/25 respectively).  With the same crazy 100+ months of lees ageing and from the amazing 2013 vintage, this is simply arresting stuff.  It's got all of that linear, savory, mineral precision, but with more texture and a redder slant thanks to it's rosé-ness.  A mere 496 bottles produced.  Beyond words.
