Every so often you come across a wine that kinda captures what you think is the essence of Burgundian Pinot Noir and, while it's quite ineffable, you know it when you taste it. The elegance, subtly profound complexity, silky texture and a purity that captures your attention - Chassorney's 2022 Volnay did that for me. There is a darkness and underlying savoriness that I really like here, and, for the price you're paying, you can do a lot worse than this beauty.
