Two Great Wines from the NY Times' 20-Under-$20 List for Fall
Let's take a break from all of the collectible-release madness, shall we?
The NY Times wine section came out with their 20-Under-$20 list for Fall last week and, as always, the selections are all thoughtful and delicious (despite what some folks in the comments section might say).
Two of the wines on the list are from two producers in Piedmont who are long-time favorites of ours - Brovia and De Forville.
The timing worked out great this time too, because we had just received our drop of each wine.
Brovia, whose Baroli have become as allocated as any wine in Piedmont, is also a Dolcetto ninja. They're able to coax a wine of fantastic freshness that is also remarkably rich and seamless from Dolcetto and the 2015 Vignavillej is exactly that - vibrantly red and spicy and supple.
De Forville has long been one of the go-to producers in Piedmont for extraordinary value, from their top Single-Vineyard Barbaresco all the way down to the Chardonnay. The 2015 Langhe Nebbiolo is highly aromatic, but also dark and powerful, a hallmark of the vintage.
Whether you want to take our word or theirs, I think you should take some of these wines!
