Il Poggione's 2013 Brunello: Let the Madness Begin

I thought it would be a good time to send January packing with an offer that always amounts to one of our most successful in each and every year - Il Poggione's Brunello di Montalcino.

This wine is a) one of the most consistent wines on Earth (I think I've only skipped selling one vintage since the 1995) and b) pound for pound, one of the great values from a major appellation, especially at the pricing that I'm able to offer today.

The 2013 vintage for Montalcino is very big news and will be one of the most important releases on the market this coming year.

The wines are very similar to my favorite vintages from the past couple of decades -- 1999, 2001, 2004 -- with big, deep, muscular fruit, strapping tannins and classic rusty, mineral, leathery nuance.

Poggione is always fairly approachable young, but I really anticipate this one living a long and happy life.

Today we're offering our usual market-best pre-arrival pricing.

This wine has not been released by the estate yet and the ETA is June as of right now.

The old standby kicks things off...
