MCF Rare Wine
Chanterêves, Thiriet & Ampeau
Just some absolutely fabulous Burgundies for a July day...
Two of the region's rising stars, both Chanterêves and Thiriet represent the new wave of producers who are making incredible wines from 'humble' sources. All of Chanterêves wines are negocé, while Thiriet began the same way, though, starting with the '22 vintage, they have a few domaine holdings as well.
While they're slightly different styles and price points, they're examples of purity, clarity and how great winemakers can do great things, even when working with material that, just 15 years ago, was thought of as dismiss-able.
On the other hand, we have two wines from Ampeau, the old-school producer who releases his wines decades late...fully mature...and at prices that, while not cheap, represent absolutely insane value and drinkability...
