As any longtime MCF customer will tell you, I make no bones about calling Luigi Tecce one of, if not the, most important winemakers in Italy right now. His mastery of the Aglianico grape, coming from a totally natural approach, allows the true, raw and beautiful nature of this ancient, noble varietal to truly shine. The Satyricon is the 'approachable' wine in his lineup that, with it's dark, robust, mineral-packed, smoky and feral nature, will out drink many other Taurasi on the market. This 2020 is easily the best rendition of Satyricon to date and, while it drinks beautifully now, you won't be sad to discover it sitting in your cellar 5-10 years from now, either.
