Down Island Single Cask Series Ghana Rum 2020

Down Island is bottling some of the most interesting rums we've had in a long time, many of which are totally unique compared to their colleagues in this ultra-niche game.  This Ghana is, perhaps, my favorite of the current lineup we have in stock, simply because of its youthful, charmingly raw character.  It's a cane juice distillate that was pot-distilled in Western Ghana in 2020, then aged in the Netherlands for three years in ex-Bouron casks, resulting in an elegantly earthy/spicy/grassy Rum that perfectly blends the raw, geeky, clairin-like quirkiness and the more familiar 'sipping rum' character.  So delicious.
