Domaine Gauby is an estate located about 20 km north of Perpignan, the vineyard covers 45 hectares. It benefits from a strong maritime influence and is situated at an altitude of between 150 and 200 meters. The terroir is complex and exceptional, in vertical strata, composed of limestone, marl and schist. This allows the vines to take deep root. In an environmental approach and respect for the vine, the cultivation of the vines is as natural as possible, without the use of chemical and synthetic products. Some of the vines on the estate are a remarkable 120 years old, as it is the case for this opulent bottling.
La Foun cuvée is made from 100% old Carignan vines. The nose is fine and balanced, with notes of very ripe black fruit, candied orange and hints of rose. The mouth is silky and round. The tannins are coated. The aromatic persistence is long with a finish of orange zest.
